Take a journey to a place where the sun almost never sets, where the waves wake you up every day and where the mountains fall right into the azure depths of the ocean. Welcome to the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago and autonomous region that lies in the Atlantic Ocean off the northwest coast of Africa. This tropical paradise will captivate you with its diverse landscapes, year-round pleasant climate, rich history and unique atmosphere.

The Canary Islands consist of seven main islands of volcanic origin – Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. Each has its own distinctive character and offers unique experiences. Be enchanted by the mysterious moonscape of Lanzarote with its impressive lava fields and extinct volcanoes. Discover the wild beaches and sand dunes of Fuerteventura, and fall under the spell of the lush vegetation and deep canyons of La Gomera. On La Palma, admire the green banana plantations and native laurel forests.

The pride of the archipelago is undoubtedly the islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Tenerife, the largest island, is dominated by the majestic volcano Pico del Teide, the highest mountain in Spain. Its slopes offer breathtaking views and hikes of all difficulties. The southern coast, with its pebbly beaches such as El Médano and Playa de las Américas, is ideal for surfing and relaxing. The northern part, with its black lava beaches and the breathtaking cliffs of Los Gigantes, invites romantic walks and swimming.

Gran Canaria is often called “the continent in miniature” for its natural diversity. The centre of the island is made up of mountainous hinterland with deep valleys and picturesque villages. The south-west coast is dominated by stunning sand dunes and Maspalomas beach, a paradise for surfers and nudists. The island’s lush vegetation, banana groves and the historic capital of Las Palmas combine colonial architecture with modern skyscrapers.

The climate in the Canary Islands is one of the most balanced and pleasant in the world. Year-round temperatures are around 20-28°C, rarely dropping below 18°C or rising above 32°C. From July to September the weather is consistently sunny with minimal rainfall. It can rain more often in winter, but the sun shines much more often than in continental Europe. Thanks to the Canary Current, the water temperature in the sea is also very pleasant – from 18°C in winter to 24°C in summer.

The Canary Islands have so much to offer visitors – beautiful beaches, unspoilt nature, hiking in the high mountains, a rich cultural heritage, vibrant nightlife and gastronomic experiences. Whether you come here to explore, relax, surf or dive, the Canary Islands will always amaze you with their beauty and energy. They are perfect for an unforgettable holiday under the blazing sun on the azure Atlantic. Let yourself be tempted and discover the magic of the “islands of eternal spring”.
